Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer in Ashburn, VA to monitor and safeguard a government education location. The role emphasizes customer service, visibility patrols, and responding to incidents with professionalism.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, a drug screen may be conducted where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members while carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities at educational facilities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification protocols.
• Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and assist with maintaining an orderly environment during school operations, events, arrivals, and dismissals.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to school personnel, supervisors, and emergency responders as appropriate.
