Job summary

Babson College is seeking a Community Service Officer (CSO) to operate in the Public Safety Department Communications Center as a call taker and dispatcher. The role may include campus patrols, parking enforcement, escorts, and support for various safety functions.

You will work under a Police Sergeant, gain experience with radio systems, access control, CCTV, and coordinate with local responders in a dynamic, multicultural campus environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years in a service industry.
• Hepatitis B vaccination and OSHA-compliant training; must maintain certification.
• Active CPR certification (or completion upon hire).
• Knowledge of public safety practices and community policing.

Responsibilities

• Receive and dispatch emergency calls for police, fire, and EMS.
• Operate dispatch software and coordinate communications between responders.
• Maintain detailed records in high-stress environments.
• Perform parking enforcement and campus escorts.
• Unlock/lock campus buildings; patrol on foot or vehicle as needed.
• Coordinate with local police and fire departments; manage radio communications.
