Babson College in Wellesley, MA, seeks a Community Service Officer to join the Public Safety Department Communications Center as a call taker and dispatcher. The role supports emergency response, campus safety, and community engagement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years of service industry experience.
• Hepatitis B vaccination and OSHA training compliance.
• Active CPR certification or to complete upon hire.
• Knowledge of public safety practices and community policing.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to maintain and monitor radio communications.
• Ability to communicate by telephone and field questions from visitors, students, employees, and guests.
• Ability to enter information and maintain records.
• Commitment to a diverse, multicultural community.

Responsibilities

• Receive emergency calls and dispatch appropriate responders using radio, telephone, and computer systems.
• Park enforcement, foot and vehicle patrols, and event security duties.
• Perform daily unlock/lockup of campus buildings.
• Patrol campus in uniform, armed or unarmed.
• Maintain radio communications and coordinate with local agencies.
• Answer routine business and emergency calls.
• Monitor access control, alarm, and CCTV systems.
• Contribute to Community Engagement and Crime Prevention programs.
• May train other Public Safety personnel.
• Assist with additional assignments as required.
