Description

The Ultrasound & Vascular Technologist will perform high-quality Diagnostic Ultrasound and Vascular exams while providing excellent patient care.

Qualifications

Minimum Work Experience
1 year Clinical Ultrasound experience (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge
Able to perform all general ultrasound exams with proficiency in vascular anatomy, color Doppler, and pulse wave Doppler.
Good knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound equipment and related components.
Strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and ultrasound pathology, with proper documentation.

Required Licenses and Certifications
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) (Required)
A.R.D.M.S. (Required)

Functional Accountabilities

Ultrasound Scanning

  • Produce high-quality ultrasound scans using appropriate transducer, scale, focal zones, and gain.
  • Work independently.
  • Assist radiologists with interventional procedures as directed.
  • Perform exams efficiently and timely.

Quality Control

  • Ensure proper patient data is attached to images.
  • Follow correct equipment procedures.
  • Verify paperwork, charges, and complete RIS assignments promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and equipment.

Patient Care

  • Greet and communicate effectively with patients and families, explaining procedures and providing follow-up info.
  • Prepare and stock exam rooms.
  • Meet scheduled times and accommodate urgent requests.
  • Assist at different sites when needed.
  • Share on-call duties equally.

Vascular Skills

  • Teach vascular anatomy and exams to students and staff.
  • Perform and ensure quality of vascular studies.

Clinical Safety

  • Follow OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Report malfunctions and assist in training new staff.

Professional Development

  • Maintain A.R.D.M.S. and RVT certifications.
  • Update CPR biennially.
  • Attend in-services and seminars.
