Job summary

United Urology Group is seeking an Ultrasonographer to perform high-quality ultrasound exams and generate reports for urological patients. You will operate ultrasound equipment, obtain precise images, and communicate findings to physicians for accurate diagnoses.

The role requires an associates degree, ARDMS abdomen/physics certifications, and BLS. Travel to other sites in the region may be necessary; expect a fast-paced, detail-driven environment with HIPAA adherence.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required.
• Minimum of one year of experience performing diagnostic abdominal ultrasound studies.
• ARDMS abdomen and physics certification required and will be verified prior to employment.
• Certificate from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program verifiable at hire.
• BLS certification required and will be verified prior to employment.
• Maintain CME requirements as required by ARDMS and verified periodically.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound exams safely and efficiently.
• Prepare patients for exams by explaining the procedure and assisting as needed with transferring them to the ultrasound table.
• Obtain and record accurate patient information, including a timeout to confirm name and DOB, and include prior tests.
• Operate ultrasound equipment and adjust positions to obtain quality diagnostic images.
• Perform sonogram and provide oral and/or written summary of findings to assist physician.
• Determine appropriate images to differentiate normal vs. pathological areas.
• Transfer all images to PACS and maintain working knowledge of PACS functionality.
• Maintain a clean, safe exam room and manage cleaning logs.
• Maintain and stock supplies, prepare for special examinations, and order supplies.
• Report equipment malfunctions and adhere to infection control policies.
• Travel to other sites within the geographic region as needed.
