NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk - Ultrasound Technologist (Per Diem)

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk is a 306-bed medical center serving residents of eastern Long Island. Our facility includes the Knapp Cardiac Care Center, a modern ambulatory surgical pavilion, a Level 2 Trauma Center, and specialized outpatient services. We are committed to providing comprehensive care with a focus on patient-centered services.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to join our Radiology team on a Per Diem basis. The successful candidate will perform ultrasonic imaging and related procedures in areas such as OB/GYN, abdomen, and vascular anatomy. The role requires demonstrating anatomy for interpretation or intervention, exercising professional judgment, and maintaining high standards of patient care and ethics.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Corroborate patients' clinical history with procedures, ensuring documentation is complete for review by a radiologist.
2. Position patients and equipment optimally, respecting patient comfort and determining appropriate ultrasonic frequencies and transducers.
3. Assist licensed practitioners during interventional procedures, applying aseptic techniques and verifying informed consent.
4. Evaluate images and data for quality, operate ultrasound equipment effectively, and record proper identification.
5. Provide physical and psychological support to patients during procedures, ensuring their safety, dignity, and comfort.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Registered or Registry Eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS).
• Completion of a two-year approved Ultrasound Diagnostic program.
• Approximately three to six months of on-the-job training.

Qualified candidates must communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
