Job Title

Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist - Breast - Per Diem - Port Jefferson at Northwell Health

Job Details

This role offers a pay range of $45.00/hr - $85.00/hr, based on skills and experience. Must be registered in Breast. Performs ultrasound exams to aid in patient diagnosis, utilizing independent judgment in applying ultrasonic waves for diagnosis of disease. Collaborates with clinicians and performs administrative tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound exams, explain procedures, and position them appropriately.
  • Obtain and review diagnostic reports, consult with physicians regarding patient history.
  • Set up and operate ultrasound equipment, ensuring accurate results.
  • Recognize structures and artifacts, determine need for further evaluation.
  • Monitor patient during exams, report any changes or concerns.
  • Document and label images, maintain records.
  • Perform minor repairs and calibration of equipment.
  • Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Vocational or Technical school Diploma.
  • Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification and specialized certifications if needed.
  • 1-3 years of technical experience.
  • BLS certification.
