Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Ultrasound Technologist - Ultrasound - Per Diem - Radiology-Ultrasound - Per Diem - Flex (Day/Eve/Night).

In this role, the successful candidate provides healthcare services by applying sonic energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs ultrasonic imaging in areas such as OB/GYN, abdomen, and vascular anatomy. Demonstrates anatomy for interpretation or intervention by licensed practitioners. Exercises professional judgment and maintains ethical demeanor. Applies appropriate patient care, recognizing conditions essential for successful procedures. Performs tasks efficiently, responsibly, and compassionately, respecting the needs of diverse patient populations, including those with disabilities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Corroborates patient’s clinical history with the procedure, ensuring documentation is available for review by a radiologist.
• Positions patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area, respecting patient comfort and determining appropriate ultrasonic settings.
• Verifies informed consent and assists licensed practitioners during interventional procedures, applying aseptic techniques.
• Evaluates images for quality, selecting and operating ultrasound equipment, manipulating display parameters, and ensuring proper identification.
• Provides physical and psychological support during procedures, respecting patient dignity and safety.
• Verifies patient identity, explains procedures, and ensures patient readiness and safety throughout the process.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Registered or Registry Eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS).
• Completion of a two-year approved Ultrasound Diagnostic Program.
• Approximately three to six months of on-the-job training.

Salary for this role is $55.97/hour, in accordance with New York State law. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and hospital needs. This range does not include bonuses or incentives.
