Job summary

Gillette Children's in St. Paul, MN seeks a casual Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer to cover our two St. Paul locations including Burnsville and Maple Grove clinics.

This on-site, part-time role operates Monday–Friday, 7:15am–5:00pm, with 8.5-hour shifts, RDMS certification required, pediatrics experience a plus. You will perform diagnostic imaging exams, ensure high-quality images, and communicate findings to physicians while providing compassionate care to patients of all ages.

Qualifications

• ARDMS RVT certification required or must complete RVT within 12 months of employment.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification. If CPR through another organization, must obtain BLS through AHA within one month of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging exams following departmental procedures and guidelines.
• Obtain high-quality images and adjust procedures based on anatomy and clinical history.
• Analyze sonograms, synthesize information, and communicate findings to the physician.
• Respond to physician orders with high-quality images meeting radiologist expectations.
• Proficient in exams including Abdomen, Small Parts, Venous Doppler; pediatric MSK proficiency or willingness to pursue.

Gillette is currently in search of a casual Sonographer to help cover our increased need at our two St. Paul locations, Burnsville and Maple Grove clinic. General hours of operation are Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:15am - 5:00pm (8.5 hour shifts). RDMS certification required. Experience with pediatrics a plus.

The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging exams in compliance with departmental procedures and guidelines. Technologists work with patients of all ages, cultures, and physical conditions providing efficient and effective customer service within the Imaging department.

Compensation Information:

The hourly wage for this opportunity is $40.21/hour to $57.22/hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including number of hours worked within the field, education, and certification/licensure. This position is also eligible for shift differential pay.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
• Uses independent judgement during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings and optimize imaging.
• Analyses sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician.
• Respond to physician orders for diagnostic imaging procedures by producing high quality images which meet the expectations of the ordering physicians and radiologists.
• Proficient in sonography exams including:
  • Abdomen
  • Small Parts
  • Venous Doppler
  • Proficient or willing to become proficient in pediatric MSK exams.
  • Obtain optimum quality diagnostic images according to protocol and guidelines.

Qualifications

Required:

• Certified, registered and in good standing with the ARDMS and RVT OR must complete RVT certification within 12 months of employment.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. If candidate holds valid CPR for through another acceptable organization (as determined by Gillette), candidate may be able to begin employment but must complete Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association within one month of employment.
• Experience working with pediatric and/or disabled populations.
