Job summary

AdventHealth in Aurora, Colorado, is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist for day shifts. You will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams, verify patient identity and exam appropriateness, and ensure accurate documentation in EMR/PACS.

Responsibilities include patient education, maintaining sterile technique, and collaborating with radiologists to ensure optimal imaging. The role requires knowledge of ultrasound physics, anatomy, and the ability to operate radiology software; Basic

Qualifications

Detailed knowledge of ultrasound physics and anatomy to perform independent procedures to Radiologist standards.
Ability to use computer systems for data entry and retrieval and basic Office skills.
Excellent patient care and communication across all ages; English proficiency required.
Ability to learn Radiology software and PACS; adapt to departmental policies.

Responsibilities

Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams per orders and protocols.
Verify patient identity, history, and exam appropriateness before scanning.
Position patients and equipment to acquire optimal images and data.
Document findings accurately in EMR and PACS; support radiologist review.
Explain procedures to patients, ensure comfort and privacy, and minimize table time.
Operate imaging equipment safely; follow PPE and infection control standards.
Maintain exam rooms and inventory; notify when supplies are low.
Collaborate with radiologists and providers for appropriate imaging and care continuity.
Sterilize transducers and ensure safety checks; perform other duties as assigned.
