Job summary

Envision Imaging is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist in Dallas to perform ultrasound procedures on adults and children, assisting radiologists during exams to obtain diagnostic-quality images. The role emphasizes patient interaction, procedural explanation, and timely image transfers.

Qualifications include two-plus years of ultrasound experience (preferred), ARDMS RVT/ARRT (VS) or OB/GYN (VS) registry preference, and active CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with patient to obtain medical history and explains the procedure to obtain the best image.
• Reviews patient charts for missing information and consent; screens for implants or allergies.
• Performs ultrasound scans, prints images, and notifies radiology staff of changes in patient condition.
• Assists Radiologist on specialized exams.
• Transfers images to other locations as needed.
• Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
• Maintains and inspects equipment; reports quality concerns or deficiencies.
• Interacts with Lead Technologist and Center/Area Manager on departmental matters.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Envision Imaging is adding a PRN Ultrasound Technologist to the team!
PRN (As-needed) | Position pay range: $40.75 - $52.54

Summary/Objective

Performs ultrasound procedures to adult and pediatric patients for diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. Assists radiologists during specialized exams to obtain images at a satisfactory level with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions

1. Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.

2. Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.

3. Performs ultrasound scans and prints images while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.

4. Assists Radiologist on specialized exams.

5. Transfers images to other locations as needed.

6. Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.

7. Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.

8. Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.

9. Other duties as assigned.

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

• Two plus years’ experience in Ultrasound – preferred

Education/Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited Sonography program
• Current ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or ARRT (VS) registry – preferred
• Current ARDMS Registered Obstetrician/Gynecology Technologist (OB/GYN) or ARRT (S) registry - preferred
• Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
