Job summary

Envision Radiology is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to join the team. The role involves performing ultrasound studies for adult and pediatric patients and assisting radiologists during specialized exams to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.

You will collaborate with the Radiology team, educate patients on procedures, and ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated for optimal performance.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Sonography program.
• Current ARDMS RVT/OB/GYN or ARRT VS registry preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification current.
• State medical board license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound procedures for adult and pediatric patients.
• Assists radiologists during specialized exams to obtain diagnostic images.
• Prints images and notifies team of changes in patient condition.
• Transfers images to other locations as needed and coordinates with Radiologist.
• Maintains and inspects ultrasound equipment and reports issues.

Envision Imaging is adding an Ultrasound Technologist to the team!

Tuesday - Friday 10:30 AM - 7:30 PM |

Position Pay Range $40.75 - $52.54

Summary/Objective

Performs ultrasound procedures to adult and pediatric patients for diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. Assists radiologists during specialized exams to obtain images at a satisfactory level with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions

• Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
• Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
• Performs ultrasound scans and prints images while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
• Assists Radiologist on specialized exams.
• Transfers images to other locations as needed.
• Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
• Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
• Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

• Two plus years’ experience in Ultrasound – preferred
• Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed
• Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player
• Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately
• Ability to excel in a very fast-pace team environment
• Ability to continuously “exceed” company and customer expectation
• Strong communication skills & professional demeanor

Education/Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited Sonography program
• Current ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or ARRT (VS) registry – preferred
• Current ARDMS Registered Obstetrician/Gynecology Technologist (OB/GYN) or ARRT (S) registry - preferred
• Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
