Job summary

Envision Radiology in Allen, TX is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound procedures on adult and pediatric patients under radiologist supervision. The role requires patient interaction, image acquisition, and coordination with the Radiology team.

Evenings and Saturdays availability is required, with pay range $40.75 - $52.54 per hour. ARDMS or ARRT credentials are preferred, and state licensure as applicable.

Qualifications

• Two plus years’ ultrasound experience preferred.
• Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed.

Responsibilities

• Interface with patient to ascertain medical history and provide instructions and explanation of the procedure to obtain the best image.
• Review patient charts for missed information and contraindications; screen for implants and allergies.
• Perform ultrasound scans and print images while caring for patient before, during and after exams, notifying significant changes.
• Assist Radiologist on specialized exams.
• Transfer images to other locations as needed.
• Coordinate scan protocols with Radiologist.
• Maintain and inspect equipment and report quality concerns or failures.
• Interface with Lead Technologist and Center/Area Manager for concerns.
• Other duties as assigned.

Envision Imaging is adding a PRN Ultrasound Technologist to the team!
PRN (As-needed) | Position pay range: $40.75 - $52.54
Evenings and Saturdays availability

Summary/Objective:

Performs ultrasound procedures to adult and pediatric patients for diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. Assists radiologists during specialized exams to obtain images at a satisfactory level with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions

1. Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.

2. Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.

3. Performs ultrasound scans and prints images while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.

4. Assists Radiologist on specialized exams.

5. Transfers images to other locations as needed.

6. Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.

7. Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.

8. Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

• Two plus years’ experience in Ultrasound – preferred

Education/Certifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Sonography program
• Current ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or ARRT (VS) registry – preferred
• Current ARDMS Registered Obstetrician/Gynecology Technologist (OB/GYN) or ARRT (S) registry - preferred
• Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
