Job summary

Animas Surgical Hospital seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to independently operate ultrasound equipment and communicate results to the radiologist. The role oversees daily ultrasound lab operations and collaborates with the radiology team to ensure efficient scheduling and accurate billing.

Requirements include ARDMS registration in physics, abdomen, OB/Gyn and vascular, a CAHEAP-accredited program graduate, BLS/CPR certification, and at least two years of hospital or clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
• Active ARDMS registration in physics, abdomen, OB/Gyn and vascular.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Two years’ experience in hospital/clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Operates ultrasound equipment and optimizes images following department protocols.
• Communicates results to radiologist and attending physician.
• Maintains patient safety and comfort during examinations.
• Coordinates scheduling and paperwork for billing and charting.
• Maintains ultrasound equipment, supplies and work area.

Education

Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
