Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams and assist clinicians in identifying anatomical abnormalities.

The role requires preparing patients, operating ultrasound equipment, and maintaining clear documentation of findings. Ideal candidates demonstrate strong communication skills, complete an approved ultrasound program, and hold or pursue RVT/RDMS or equivalent credentials.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of an approved Ultrasound School.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform specialized ultrasound procedures using high frequency sound waves to assist in detecting anatomical abnormalities.
• Collaborate with clinicians and imaging staff to ensure quality exams.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort during ultrasound examinations.

The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of specialized technical tasks in Diagnostic Ultrasound utilizing high frequency sound waves to assist medical and professional personnel in detecting anatomical abnormalities.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Graduate of an approved Ultrasound School.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in ultrasound.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• Registered Vascular Technologist Certification (RVT) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification (RDMS) or Sonography Certification (ARRT, S) or Registered Vascular Specialist Certification (CCI, RVS)
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification within 60 days of entering position
