Job summary

Bright Light Medical Imaging seeks an Ultrasound Technologist for Saturdays on-site in Arlington Heights. The role supports a physician-led imaging center with cutting-edge technology and a family-like culture.

Responsibilities include performing ultrasound studies, maintaining equipment, and documenting findings, while ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the exam. ARDMS/RVT certification and CPR-BLS are required.

Qualifications

• ARDMS and/or RVT registration with prior clinical ultrasound experience.
• Proficiency running advanced Ultrasound studies independently.
• Proficient in Abdomen/Small Parts, OB/GYN, Vascular.
• Breast imaging experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document patient's medical history prior to any examination.
• Sterilize and maintain ultrasound equipment.
• Calm anxieties and explain imaging process to obtain cooperation.
• Position patients to obtain correct imaging.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the experience.
• Maintain cleanliness of rooms and stock of supplies.
• Use sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures.
• Document ultrasound services by recording data in charts.
• Communicate medical data to staff and physicians.
• Provide education, training and direction to new technologists.
• Perform all ultrasound imaging procedures in a timely and efficient manner.
• Frequent lifting/movement up to 50 lbs.

Compensation: $38.00-$45.00 /per hour

What We Are Looking For:

Location: Onsite Arlington Heights

Days/Hours: Saturday 8am-4:30pm or 5pm

Overview Of Key Responsibilities:

• Document patient's medical history prior to any examination
• Sterilize and maintain ultrasound equipment
• Gain patient cooperation by calming anxieties, providing explanation of imaging process and addressing any questions or concerns
• Carefully position patients in order to obtain correct imaging
• Responsibly ensure patient is comfortable and safe throughout their experience
• Maintains cleanliness of rooms and adequate stock of supplies
• Use sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures
• Document ultrasound services by accurately recording data in the patient's chart
• Effectively communicate medical data, patient history and any related information to staff and appropriate physician
• Provide education, training and direction to new technologists
• Perform all job related functions as a Ultrasound Technologist, including all Ultrasound imaging procedures according to department standard in a timely and efficient manner
• Perform all other duties as assignedFrequent lifting/movement of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance without assistance
• Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions

• Quick, accurate decision making

• Exceptional attention to detail, highly organized
• Technical, extensive knowledge and skilled expertise in ultrasound technology
• Ability to integrate diagnostic sonograms, laboratory results, and medical histories to adapt sonographic examinations as necessary
• Effective, composed communication to address patient's questions
• Interpersonal skills, patient focused attitude with passion and sensitivity towards their care

Education, Experience & Requirements:

• ARDMS and/or RVT registered with prior clinical ultrasound experience

• Experience in Breasts, preferred
• CPR-BLS Certification
