Job summary

NPT Newport Hospital is seeking an experienced ultrasound technologist to perform complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures across all age groups, including neonates and geriatric patients. You will provide routine and specialized vascular services, support radiologists, and ensure high standards of patient safety and care.

Responsibilities include abdominal, obstetric, pelvic, and small part studies, with Doppler and color flow techniques.

Qualifications

• ARDMS registration required for experienced Sonographer; new graduates must obtain ARDMS within 6 months of hire.
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk 1-3 hours; lift up to 50 lbs with proper body mechanics.
• Must have CPR certification and demonstrate accuracy in depth perception and distance judgment.

Responsibilities

• Performs abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, vascular and small part ultrasound examinations.
• Operates Doppler and vascular capabilities and communicates preliminary findings to radiologists.
• Ensures patient safety, maintains aseptic technique, and adheres to infection control procedures.
• Assists with interdepartmental quality improvement activities and completes required education.
