Job summary

Genesis HealthCare System is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for the OB/Gyn department. The role involves performing diagnostic ultrasound and vascular exams to support accurate diagnoses, while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Day shift, 16 scheduled hours per week in a busy hospital setting. The candidate should be ARDMS-certified or have equivalent experience and be capable of working independently with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (or equivalent) in OB/Gyn or Abdominal and/or 5 years of diagnostic ultrasound experience.
• Demonstrated competence in diagnostic ultrasound procedures including invasive exams such as ultrasound-guided biopsies.
• Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, facilitation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment for obstetrical, abdominal, and vascular exams as applicable.
• Assist physicians in fine needle biopsies and localization procedures.
• Ensure diagnostic quality by adjusting technical factors and patient positioning.
• Use HIS/RIS/PACS systems to access and distribute patient and procedure information.
• Assist in transporting patients to and from the department.
• Educate patients and families about procedures as needed.
• Participate in ultrasound/radiology student training and clinical QA activities.
• Possess on-call availability for emergencies as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
