Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital seeks a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams under supervision. You will position patients, operate ultrasound equipment, and assist physicians with procedures while maintaining safety and infection control standards.

The role requires ARDMS certification, CPR, and 1 year of formal training or 4 years of experience. The department supports student training and ongoing education in a busy, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• One year of formal training in an accredited School of Ultrasound or four years experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer.
• CPR certification from AHA or BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• ARDMS certification is required.
• Ability to operate ultrasound equipment and position patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and assist physicians with procedures.
• Position and instruct patients to obtain optimal diagnostic results.
• Maintain equipment and work area, ensure infection control, and support department operations.
• Provide clinical teaching to students and staff as required.
