Job summary

UMass Memorial Health seeks a skilled sonographer to perform diverse ultrasound procedures including general, vascular, obstetric and pediatric exams. You will operate equipment, document findings and support physicians and students across the department.

Requirements include specialized post-secondary training and ARDMS registration. The role requires maintaining patient comfort and safety while delivering accurate imaging results in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Registration required by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
• Specialized post-secondary training equivalent to two years of college or higher.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound procedures (general, vascular, obstetric, pediatric) per dept. protocols.
• Operates ultrasound equipment and records images; may perform portable exams.
• Uses RIS to schedule exams and manage labels/materials.
• Serves as a resource to sonographers, MDs and students.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area and reports hazards promptly.
