Job summary

UMass Memorial Health Marlborough is hiring a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist. You will perform ultrasound exams in in-patient or outpatient settings, gather clinical data, and ensure accurate records.

This is a non-exempt, full-time role with a mixed shift and a 32-hour weekly schedule, with weekend rotation every fourth weekend. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited ultrasonography program, ARDMS registration within one year, and at least one year of imaging experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited ultrasonography or radiologic technology program.
• Registration with ARDMS within one year of hire date.
• Preferred: Associate degree.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound techniques and examinations in inpatient or outpatient settings per patient age and standards.
• Gathers pertinent clinical data and maintains accurate patient records.
• Accurately completes all records, paperwork, and billings promptly.
• Positions and transfers patients and assists physicians with interventional exams.
• Performs QC on images and sends exams to PACS for radiologist review.
• Assists radiologists with ultrasound-guided interventional procedures.
• Follows Universal protocol in accordance with hospital policy and procedure.
• Maintains inventory and assists in purchasing supplies as needed.
• Monitors equipment and ensures supplies are available as needed.
• Utilizes sterilization protocols for all probes per policy.
• Assists with film processing, urgent requests, and scheduling.
• Adheres to health and safety regulations and departmental policies.
