Prime Healthcare’s St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist II to perform advanced diagnostic imaging. The Ultrasonography Tech II contributes high-quality ultrasound images to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment.

This part-time position offers 10-hour day shifts from 6:00am to 4:30pm. Certification in ARDMS-registered fields is required within 90 days, with opportunities to expand into abdomen, breast, or OB‑GYN imaging.

Qualifications

• ARDMS RVT, RVS, or ARRT VS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Additional ARDMS Abdomen, Breast or OB-GYN certifications required.
• Graduate of an accredited vascular ultrasound program.
• Current BCLS certification required.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage more complex patient cases and collaborate with imaging teams on tailored plans.
• Operate ultrasound machines and optimize imaging settings for accuracy.
• Interpret ultrasound images in real time and communicate findings to radiologists.
• Utilize advanced imaging techniques and guided procedures when needed.
• Perform a broad range of studies including obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, abdominal, cardiac, and musculoskeletal.

Location: St Mary's Medical Center - Blue Springs, MO

We are seeking an Ultrasound Technologist II, also known as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Ultrasound Tech II. The Ultrasound Tech II performs advanced ultrasound services and diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound technology. Ultrasound Technologists play a critical role in the diagnostic process by providing high-quality ultrasound images that assist healthcare providers in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing more complex patient cases and providing specialized care to patients with unique medical needs or conditions, this could involve collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop tailored imaging plans and treatment strategies


• Operate ultrasound machines to produce real-time images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and blood flow, select appropriate imaging techniques and settings to capture clear and accurate images based on the specific clinical indication or area of interest


• Interpret ultrasound images in real-time to assess the structure, size, shape, and function of organs and tissues within the body, identify any abnormalities, lesions, or pathology that may be present and communicate findings to radiologists or referring physicians


• Proficient in using advanced imaging techniques and technologies, such as contrast-enhanced ultrasound, or ultrasound-guided procedures (biopsies, aspirations, injections, thoracentesis, and paracentesis procedures)


• Perform a wider range of ultrasound examinations, including more complex or specialized imaging studies, this could involve imaging of specific organs or systems, such as obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, abdominal, cardiac, or musculoskeletal ultrasound

Qualifications

• RVT(ARDMS), RVS (CCI) or VS (ARRT) certification required within 90 days of hire and maintain.


• In addition requires additional certification from ARDMS in Abdomen, Breast or /OB-GYN


• Graduate an accredited vascular ultrasound program or current certification as identified in #1 and graduation within 90 days of hire


• Current BCLS certificate required upon hire and maintain current


• Proficient computer skills


• Current experience preferred
