Job summary

Freeman Health is seeking a certified ultrasound technologist to perform ultrasonic examinations and support physicians in diagnostic imaging. You will apply ultrasound techniques with independent judgment while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accurate exam preparation.

This PRN/as-needed role requires ARDMS/CCI certification or equivalent program accreditation, BLS, RVT eligibility, and graduation from an accredited radiologic sciences or ultrasound program.

Qualifications

• ARDMS/CCI certified or graduate of CHEA/USDOE or CMA-accredited diagnostic medical sonography/diagnostic cardiac sonography/vascular technology program and eligible for registry
• Current BLS or acquired within the first 7 days of employment
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) within 90 days of employment
• Clinical experience acquired through the completion of radiologic sciences program
• Graduate of an accredited radiologic sciences or ultrasound technology program

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasonic examinations and ensures proper patient identification and safety during procedures.
• Applies ultrasound techniques for radiologic diagnosis with independent judgment and initiative, documenting findings for physician review.

What You'll Do

Performs ultrasonic examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician. Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in applying ultrasound techniques for radiologic diagnosis. Responsible for the safety and comfort of all patients undergoing ultrasound procedures. Ensures that all procedures have been appropriately ordered with satisfaction patient identification obtained prior to conducting procedure.

Requirements

• ARDMS/CCI certified or graduate of a program accredited by an agency recognized by CHEA, USDOE or CMA that specifically conducts programmatic accreditation for diagnostic medical sonography/diagnostic cardiac sonography/vascular technology and eligible for registry

• Current BLS or acquired within the first 7 days of employment

• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) within 90 days of employment

• Clinical experience acquired through the completion of radiologic sciences program

• Graduate of an accredited radiologic sciences or ultrasound technology program

Preferred Requirements

• Two years experience as a sonographer in an acute care hospital setting

• Graduate of an accredited radiologic sciences program with a B.S

• Completion of advanced modality program(s)
