Job summary

Freeman Health seeks a skilled Ultrasonography Technologist to perform ultrasonic examinations for radiologic diagnosis. You will apply ultrasound techniques with independence and ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.

Expect to review orders, verify patient identity, and work toward RVT certification within 90 days of employment, with required ARDMS/CCI or CHEA accreditation and BLS on file.

Qualifications

• ARDMS/CCI certification or CHEA-accredited ultrasound program graduate.
• BLS certification current or to be achieved within 7 days of employment.
• RVT registration within 90 days of employment.
• Clinical radiologic sciences experience gained through accredited program.
• Graduate of an accredited radiologic sciences or ultrasound technology program.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasonic examinations for radiologic diagnosis.
• Apply ultrasound techniques with independent judgment and initiative.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during ultrasound procedures.
• Verify appropriate orders and obtain patient identification prior to procedures.

Education

What You'll Do

Performs ultrasonic examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician. Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in applying ultrasound techniques for radiologic diagnosis. Responsible for the safety and comfort of all patients undergoing ultrasound procedures. Ensures that all procedures have been appropriately ordered with satisfaction patient identification obtained prior to conducting procedure.

Requirements

• ARDMS/CCI certified or graduate of a program accredited by an agency recognized by CHEA, USDOE or CMA that specifically conducts programmatic accreditation for diagnostic medical sonography/diagnostic cardiac sonography/vascular technology and eligible for registry
• Current BLS or acquired within the first 7 days of employment
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) within 90 days of employment
• Clinical experience acquired through the completion of radiologic sciences program
• Graduate of an accredited radiologic sciences or ultrasound technology program

Preferred Requirements

• Two years experience as a sonographer in an acute care hospital setting
• Graduate of an accredited radiologic sciences program with a B.S
• Completion of advanced modality program(s)
