Job summary

DCH Health System in Tuscaloosa, AL is seeking an Ultrasound Technician/Diagnostic Medical Sonographer who is registry eligible by ARDMS and dedicated to maintaining a safe, efficient ultrasound environment daily. The candidate should provide clear explanations to patients of all ages and collaborate with families as needed.

Must possess knowledge of anatomy, physiology and physics as they relate to sonography, adhere to safety standards and accreditation requirements, and apply I Care and AIDET

Qualifications

• Must be ARDMS registry eligible.
• Should obtain RDMS and RVT (RVS) within 24 months of eligibility.
• New hires must be RDMS and RVT (RVS) within 12 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provides imaging services for patients of all ages with clear explanations.
• Upholds safety standards and JCAHO guidelines.
• Performs ultrasound QC and documents equipment usage.
• Maintains safe, clean ultrasound environment and manages supplies.
• Supervises students and new staff as assigned.
• Coordinates with radiologists and department staff; participates in on-call duties when required.
