Job summary

Altus Community Healthcare is seeking an Ultrasound Technician (Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) qualified by professional certification and clinical experience to perform ultrasound diagnostic procedures. The role involves maintaining equipment, explaining procedures to patients, and presenting findings to physicians.

Requirements include ARDMS certification and a formal NA/CAAHEP-accredited program, along with at least two years of ultrasound experience.

Qualifications

Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program accredited by CAAHEP.
At least 2 years of ultrasound/sonography experience.

Responsibilities

Maintains awareness of all departmental and operational policies of Altus Community Healthcare (ACH).
Assists in the maintenance of all equipment in the department, including cleaning and QA procedures.
Explains the ultrasound procedure to patients and answers any questions they may have. Maintains ultrasound equipment and areas in which the procedures take place.
Performs high-level disinfection on endocavity probes/transducers when necessary and according to policy and procedure.
Performs ultrasounds using technique that ensures the transducer (probe) captures images from each angle and area assessed.
Evaluates images for quality and ensures that images of the appropriate area/organ/body part are captured.
Present images and preliminary findings to physicians and the healthcare team.
Maintain patient records and adds notes related to the ultrasound procedure.
Perform other duties as assigned
