Qualifications

• Certification RDMS is required; additional certifications may be needed per department.
• 1–3 years of ultrasound technical experience.
• BLS certification as required by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for ultrasound exam and positions patient on table per SOPs; explains procedures.
• Obtains pertinent imaging and reports; consults with referring physician for history.
• Sets up equipment and adjusts settings to ensure accurate results and timely exams.
• Recognizes findings and determines need for further evaluations beyond initial instructions.
• Observes patient during exam and reports any changes or adverse symptoms.
• Documents image details and maintains logs of exams performed.
• Performs minor repairs and calibration checks; troubleshoots equipment as needed.
