Northwell Health is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams with independent judgment and precision, assisting in patient diagnosis and collaborating with radiologists and clinicians to ensure study appropriateness. The ideal candidate holds a technical school diploma and an RDMS certification, with ARMDS in OB/GYN preferred.

1–3 years of experience, including high-risk OB/MFM, and BLS certification are required to support safe, effective imaging.

Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical school diploma required.
• Current RDMS certification required; ARMDS in OB/GYN preferred.
• 1–3 years of technical experience; high-risk OB/MFM experience preferred.
• BLS through the American Heart Association required.

Responsabilités

• Prepare patient for ultrasound exam; position patient on examination table; explain procedures to relieve pre-testing anxiety.
• Obtain pertinent imaging and reports; consult referring physician to determine exam required.
• Set up equipment and adjust settings for accurate results using professional judgment.
• Differentiate normal from pathologic findings and determine need for further evaluation.
• Observe patient during exam and report any changes or complications per protocol.
• Document image details and label studies; maintain records and logs.
• Perform minor repairs/calibration checks and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
• Perform related duties as required and within ADA-defined essential functions.
