Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Sonography Technology.
• Licenses/Certifications: BLS required; must obtain registry (ARRT-S/VS, RDMS, RDCS, RVT, RCIS, RCS, RVS, RCCS, or ARRT-BS) with vascular registry by end of 12 months.
• Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound/sonography procedures on patients: prepares, positions, explains, and selects imaging techniques to ensure quality images.
• Enters and monitors patient data.
• Performs quality assurance on ultrasound equipment.
• May assist with initial/renewal applications for ACR and other accreditation.
• Identifies and reports accidents, complaints or equipment malfunctions to department management.
• Takes emergency call within the department.
• Models Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences.
