• Assists patient onto table and instructs on procedure.
• Selects and records images for physician interpretation.
• Produces and analyzes ultrasound images for diagnosis and treatment.

A typical day for an Ultrasound Technologist may include:

• Prepares & sends specimens to labs in the absence of the secretary.
• Prepares exam rooms before patient enters & cleans room following patient's exit.
• Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures by assisting them onto the table & instructing them in the procedure that is being performed.
• Selects & records appropriate images for the permanent
• The sonographer is competent in the production & analysis of ultrasound images used by physicians for patient diagnosis & treatment.
• In addition, the individual must be prepared to render quality patient care by exercising discretion & judgement in the performance of sonographic services.
