Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health's Jersey City Medical Center Ultrasound Department is seeking a Per Diem Ultrasound Technician to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging in the on-site setting. You will prepare exam rooms, assist patients, and capture accurate ultrasound images for physician interpretation.

The role requires ARDMS certification and BLS through the American Heart Association, with an evening shift and responsibilities focused on patient comfort, safety, and meticulous image acquisition.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited School of Sonography.
• Certified by ARDMS.
• Maintains required BLS Heart Saver/ Health Care Provider through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam rooms before patient enters and cleans room after exit.
• Assists patients onto the table and guides them through the procedure.
• Selects and records appropriate ultrasound images for the physician's review.
• Performs high-quality ultrasound examinations and analyzes images.
• Ensures patient safety and comfort during sonographic services.

Typical Day

• Prepares exam rooms before patient enters & cleans room following patient's exit.
• Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures by assisting them onto the table & instructing them in the procedure that is being performed.
• Selects & records appropriate images for the permanent
• The sonographer is competent in the production & analysis of ultrasound images used by physicians for patient diagnosis & treatment.
• In addition, the individual must be prepared to render quality patient care by exercising discretion & judgement in the performance of sonographic services.
