Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health's Jersey City Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Ultrasound Technician for the Evening shift. You will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the exam.

The role emphasizes teamwork, precise imaging, and clear communication in a fast-paced clinical setting. Graduates of an accredited Sonography program with ARDMS certification and BLS through the American Heart Association are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited School of Sonography.
• Certified by ARDMS.
• Maintains required BLS Heart Saver/Health Care Provider through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam rooms before patient enters and cleans room after exit.
• Prepares patients for procedures and instructs them on the procedure being performed.
• Selects and records appropriate images for the permanent record.
• The sonographer produces and analyzes ultrasound images for physician diagnosis and treatment.
• Render high-quality patient care with discretion and professional judgement during sonographic services.

A Typical Day For An Ultrasound Technician May Include

• Prepares exam rooms before patient enters & cleans room following patient's exit.
• Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures by assisting them onto the table & instructing them in the procedure that is being performed.
• Selects & records appropriate images for the permanent
• The sonographer is competent in the production & analysis of ultrasound images used by physicians for patient diagnosis & treatment.
• In addition, the individual must be prepared to render quality patient care by exercising discretion & judgement in the performance of sonographic services.
