Job summary

Relapath is recruiting an Ultrasound Technologist for a direct-hire role in the Myrtle Beach, SC area. The candidate will perform diagnostic sonograms with a strong understanding of anatomy and pathology, under minimal supervision, and participate in inpatient on-call rotations.

Responsibilities include reviewing orders, educating patients, positioning for imaging, documenting history, and maintaining equipment while mentoring students as needed.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Associate's Degree in Medical Sonography.
• 1 year Sonography experience preferred.
• ARDMS registration or registry completion expected within 24 months of hire date.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Review outpatient orders prior to day of procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Educate and prepare patients for procedures.
• Position patients to obtain desired anatomy and ensure safety.
• Document patient medical history to assist radiologist’s interpretation.
• Perform a variety of diagnostic sonograms including abdomen, OB/GYN, small parts, pediatrics.
• Set technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology.
• Complete exams in hospital information system and maintain equipment.
• Mentor and/or train students if required.

We are currently recruiting for a direct-hire Ultrasound Technologist role. This is an excellent opportunity offering benefits, perks, and coastal living in the greater Myrtle Beach, SC area! Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic medical sonograms at a technical level requiring sound understanding of anatomy measurements and abnormal or suspicious anatomy; a high degree of technical competency and with the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with minimal supervision. Employees in this position will be responsible for inpatient on-call and shift rotation.

What You Will Do

• Review outpatient orders prior to day of procedure to ensure accuracy and to avoid delay in patient care.
• Provide excellent patient care by educating and preparing patients for their procedure while utilizing effective communication.
• Position patients so desired anatomy will be demonstrated and ensure patient comfort and safety for the duration of their procedure.
• Obtain and document accurate patient medical history to assist radiologist’s interpretation.
• Perform a variety of diagnostic sonograms to include but not limited to Abdomen- Aorta, right upper quadrant, renal, renal doppler, OB GYN- first, second, and third trimester fetal examinations, pelvis- trans abdominal and transvaginal. Small parts- thyroid, extremity, scrotum, and breast. Pediatrics- pylorus, spine, hips. Procedures- Biopsies of thyroid, liver, lymph nodes, renal, aspirations, paracentesis, and thoracentesis.
• Perform standard diagnostic sonogram procedures as required by physician’s order.
• Determine and set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology.
• Completion of exam in hospital information system.
• Cleaning and maintaining all imaging equipment.
• May also assist with mentoring and/or training students.

Education Qualifications

• Certificate under the completion of a Medical Sonography program Required or
• Associate's Degree under the completion of a Medical Sonography program Required

Experience Qualifications

• At least one (1) year Sonography experience Preferred
