Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to produce high-quality ultrasound images for diagnosis and treatment. This role requires patient interaction, accuracy, and collaboration with leadership to ensure efficient scanner use.

The position supports on-call coverage and may involve research and QA initiatives. Certification in diagnostic imaging is required or pursued with preferred ARDMS/ARRT credentials; 0–1 year experience is typical.

Qualifications

• Diagnostic Imaging certification/credential required or trade/vocational diploma.
• Ultrasound technologist certification and/or ARDMS/ARRT credentials preferred.
• Associate degree in Diagnostic Imaging preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound examinations with accuracy and efficiency.
• Explain procedures to patients while maintaining confidentiality and comfort.
• Assist with training staff and students and participate in research/QA projects.
• Support on-call, holiday, and flexible shift coverage as needed.

Review exam orders and clinical history. Prepare and clean equipment and rooms; restock supplies as needed.-Patient Care & Collaboration: Clearly explain procedures, considering patient comfort and confidentiality. Collaborate with leadership to ensure efficient workflow and scanner use. Provide care within the scope of training and licensure.-Department & On-Call Coverage: Participate in on-call, holiday, and flexible shift coverage as needed.-Clinical Performance: Perform ultrasound exams and assist with training staff and students.
