Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for the first shift. You will produce two- and three-dimensional ultrasonic recordings, select appropriate equipment, and enter data into the PACS system while following department protocols.

Requires completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program and ARDMS/CCI/ARRT eligibility, plus BLS within 90 days. Hospital or clinical experience is preferred, with 20% travel to satellite locations.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program through an accredited organization or on the job training in ultrasound that led to registry. Required
• Customer service experience. Preferred
• Experience in Ultrasound Preferred
• Experience in a hospital or clinical setting. Preferred
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - ARDMS ARDMS-Sonography or CCI-Sonography or ARRT-Sonography are also accepted dependent upon department. Required
• Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Select equipment/transducer for ultrasound setup; adjust controls per exam protocol.
• Explain process to patient and assist in appropriate positioning for examination.
• Accurately enter required data into Lumedx (PACS) system.
• Complete and participate in Quality Improvement evaluation as needed.
• Start equipment and capture/record images for internal organs.
• Disinfect equipment and area after use.
• Participate in training Washburn University students as directed.
• Demonstrate knowledge of proper high-level disinfection for probes (if applicable).
• On-call rotation is required for this position.
• Select and add correct associated examination charges as needed.
• Maintain professional appearance and contribute to team atmosphere.
