Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform ultrasound examinations and document findings following department protocols.

The ideal candidate has formal sonography training (accredited or on-the-job) and ARDMS/ARRT registration, with strong patient communication and infection control. This is a full-time, on-site position with travel to satellite sites as required.

Qualifications

• Formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography training completed (accredited) or on-the-job ultrasound training with registry.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Experience in ultrasound and hospital/clinical settings preferred.
• ARDS/ARRT/Sonography registration required or pending per department.

Responsibilities

• Selects appropriate equipment/transducer for ultrasound examinations according to protocol.
• Position patient and adjust settings to image target organ.
• Move transducer over body and monitor ultrasonic patterns.
• Enter data into Lumedx (PACS) system.
• Participate in Quality Improvement evaluations and training of students.
• Maintain high-level disinfection and equipment care.
