Job summary

Lifepoint Health's Wilson Medical Center in North Carolina is seeking an Ultrasound Technician to perform diverse ultrasound studies and support radiology diagnosis. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, accuracy, and collaboration with physicians in a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will have a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program degree (or equivalent), ARRT DMS certification with at least one year of experience, and the ability to work under pressure while delivering quality

Qualifications

• Graduate of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or School of Radiology.
• ARRT certification with at least one year of DMS experience preferred.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and deliver patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality ultrasound studies (abdominal, OB, vascular, neonatal, pelvis, breast, testicular) for radiologist diagnosis.
• Maintain files, supplies and equipment.
• Perform sonographic examinations as requested by referring physician.
• Maintain clean, orderly work area; notify supervisor of needed items.
• Keep equipment calibrated and functional for accuracy and longevity.
• Provide age-appropriate care to all patients.
• Serve as consultant and educational resource for scan accuracy.

How You'll Contribute

• Provides quality ultrasound studies to include abdominal, OB, vascular, neonatal, pelvis, breast, and testicular small parts for use by the radiologist in the diagnosis of patient illness.
• Maintains appropriate files, supplies and equipment.
• Performs sonographic examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician delivery of care and services
• Maintains appropriate supplies and a clean and orderly work area. Notifies supervisor of needed items.
• Maintains equipment to ensure accuracy and longevity.
• Provides age-appropriate care to all patients.
• Acts as a physician/staff consultant and an educational resource for appropriateness and accuracy of scans

What We're Looking For

• Education: Graduate of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or School of Radiology
• Minimum Work Experience: ARRT should have one year of DMS experience (preferred only).
• Licenses: American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) Other; Graduate from an accredited DMS program OR DMS Certification.
• Skills and Abilities: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
