Job summary

Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital in Elko, NV is seeking an Ultrasound Technician to perform abdominal, obstetric, vascular and other specialty ultrasound exams. You will operate equipment, prepare patients and ensure accurate documentation for interpretation by radiologists.

Ideal candidates have formal education in diagnostic medical sonography, ARRT/DMS certification and BLS within 30 days of hire, plus a year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a diagnostic medical sonography or radiology program.
• One year of diagnostic medical sonography experience preferred.
• ARRT/DMS certification; BLS required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic exams.
• Performs abdominal, OB, vascular, neonatal, pelvic, breast and small parts studies.
• Explains procedures to patients and ensures comfort; maintains records.
• Keeps equipment and work area organized; supports scheduling and patient flow.

How You'll Contribute

An Ultrasound Technician who excels in this role provides quality ultrasound studies including abdominal, OB, vascular, neonatal, pelvic, breast, and small parts exams for interpretation by the radiologist in the diagnosis of patient illness. Additional responsibilities include:

• Receives patient, explains method of procedure and makes sure patient is comfortable.
• Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.
• Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
• Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.
• Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth.

What We're Looking For

• Education: Graduate of a diagnostic medical sonography or radiology program required.
• Experience: One year of diagnostic medical sonography experience preferred.
• License/Certification: Graduate of an accredited DMS program or ARRT/DMS certification; BLS required within 30 days of hire.
