Job summary

Axia Women’s Health is seeking a Part-Time OB/GYN Sonographer for our Brunswick Hills OBGYN location in East Brunswick, NJ. Hours: Wednesday and Friday 7AM-3PM, Thursday 12PM-8PM.

Responsibilities include performing high-quality ultrasound exams, reviewing orders, and presenting findings to the care team, with strong emphasis on accuracy and patient care.

Qualifications

• Formal education from an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound program is required.
• Current RDMS OB/GYN certification is required.
• At least 2 years obstetrical scanning experience preferred.
• FMF or NTQR certification preferred.
• Additional ARDMS certifications (BR/AB/FT) desirable.
• eClinicalWorks EMR experience beneficial.
• Knowledge of CPT coding is a plus.

• Review prior images and imaging reports before ultrasound exam.
• Review and verify physician’s orders.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and position for views.
• Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations per approved techniques and protocols.
• Present images and preliminary findings to physicians and healthcare team.
• Evaluate images for quality and interpret findings.
• Maintain patient records and medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and sterilize room between patients.
• Utilize PACS, EMR, and related imaging systems.
• Stock and replenish supplies as required.
• Train other Ultrasound Technicians as needed.
• Perform other associated duties as assigned.

We are currently recruiting for a Part Time OB/GYN Sonographer for our Brunswick Hills OBGYN in East Brunswick, NJ.

Hours : Wednesday & Friday 7AM-3PM, 12PM-8PM Thursday

Essential Functions:

• Reviews any prior images and imaging reports prior to ultrasound exam.
• Reviews and verifies physician’s orders.
• Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures, explains procedures, measures and positions patients for each anatomical view.
• Performs high-quality ultrasound examinations in accordance with approved techniques and protocols, ensuring the transducer (probe) is correctly capturing images.
• Presents images and preliminary findings to physicians and healthcare team.
• Evaluates images for quality and interprets images captured.
• Maintains patient records; adds medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure.
• Maintains ultrasound equipment and sterilizes room between ultrasound patients.
• Utilizes PACs, EMR, and other systems related to imaging.
• Stocks and replenishes supplies as required.
• Maintains certifications by completing any assigned compliance and continuing education requirements.
• Trains other Ultrasound Technicians as needed.
• Performs other associated duties as assigned.

Qualities & Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to accurately document scan findings.
• Demonstrated thorough knowledge of ultrasound equipment.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Education & Experience:

• Formal education and completion of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound program required.
• Current RDMS certification from ARDMS in Ob/Gyn required.
• At least 2 years’ recent experience performing obstetrical scanning preferable.
• Current FMF or NTQR certification in NT (Nuchal Translucency) preferable.
• Additional ARDMS certification in Breast (BR) and Abdomen (AB) desirable.
• Additional ARDMS certification and experience in Fetal Echocardiography (FT) desirable.
• eClinicalWorks (EMR) experience beneficial.
• Knowledge of specific order sets and related CPT coding a plus
