Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist to join the medical imaging team. You will perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures following radiologist protocols and operate ultrasound equipment.

The role includes image processing, room preparation, assisting physicians during invasive procedures, and potential supervision of students. BLS and ARRT or ARDMS certification are required, with AMA approved ultrasound school graduation.

• BLS required.
• ARRT or ARDMS required.
• Graduate of an AMA approved Ultrasound school.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures per radiologist protocols.
• Operates ultrasound equipment, processes images and prepares exam room.
• Assists physicians during invasive procedures and supports clerical tasks as needed.
• Direct supervision of students may occur as assigned.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic procedures with the use of ultrasound, with protocols outlined by the radiologist.Operates diagnostic equipment,processes images, and prepares room with necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure.The ultrasound technologistis responsible forselecting proper technical factors, producing diagnostic quality images, and competent in the operation of equipment.Assistanceis also needed bythe physiciansduring invasive procedures.Other duties include, but are not limited to, clerical, scheduling, transportation, ordering supplies, inventory,cleaningand anythingdeemednecessary by the medical imaging management team.Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor.Employeemust have the same licensure or have completed the same trainingto satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student.Direct supervisionmeansthe primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.

What qualifications you will need:

• BLS required
• ARRT or ARDMS required
• Graduate of an AMA approved Ultrasound school.
• Previous Ultrasound Technologist experience preferred.
