Job summary

Piedmont Fayette Hospital is seeking an ultrasound technologist to join the Outpatient Diagnostic Center to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams and invasive procedures. The role requires ARRT/ARDMS eligibility and completion of an approved sonography program, with BLS certification.

The technician will provide patient care across neonatal to geriatric populations and communicate effectively with radiologists and staff to ensure quality imaging and timely results.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved CAAHEP Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or ARRT-approved program.

Responsibilities

• Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures.
• Provides patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices. Provides patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment. Demonstrates knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology. Provides patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics. Communicates effective with staff and radiologists.

Qualifications:

• MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Graduate of an approved CAAHEP Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or an approved Sonography Program by the ARRT.
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None.
• MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technology in Radiology (R) or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or ARRT(S).
• Licensure requirement for Breast Ultrasound can be met with registration through ARRT (BS).
• ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: BLS certified.
