Job summary

A healthcare provider in Cartersville is seeking a Night Ultrasound Technician to operate ultrasound equipment and provide patient care. The role requires a graduate of an AMA-approved program and the ability to perform diagnostic examinations. No prior experience is necessary, but various certifications are required upon hire. Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an AMA-approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
• In lieu of certification, equivalent experience per IAC standards is accepted.
• Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire.

Job description

Ultrasound Technician – Nights

Schedule: Tuesday – Friday, 9:00pm – 7:30am. On‑call and holiday requirements apply as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic examinations and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
• Provide patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy and pathology.
• Provide patient care to all age groups, including neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.
• Communicate effectively with staff and radiologists.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an AMA‑approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or a JRCERT‑accredited hospital‑based training program – Required
• In lieu of a certificate, equivalent experience according to the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) – Required

Work Experience

• No experience required – Required
• 1 year of experience – Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS – Basic Life Support Upon Hire – Required
• ARDMS – Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography; must become registered by the ARDMS within 6 months of employment – Required
• Vascular Sonographers must become registered and/or RVT, RVS, RT(S), RT(VS) within 6 months of employment – Required
• (BR) ARDMS or ARRT – Breast Sonography (BS); breast licensure requirement for breast ultrasound can be met with registration through ARRT – Required
• RVT – Registered Vascular Technologist – Preferred
• RVS – Registered Vascular Sonographer – Preferred
