Job summary

HonorHealth's Vascular Heart Care Clinic in Scottsdale seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound diagnostic procedures under radiologist supervision, with a focus on vascular imaging and patient safety. Independent judgment and accurate data entry are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of clinical ultrasound experience.
• Proficiency in multiple vascular ultrasound exams.
• ARDMS eligibility with SPI or ARRT credentialing desirable.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound examinations including abdominal, OB/GYN, and vascular protocols.
• Operates hospital software and documents results accurately.
• Assists radiologists during procedures and administers medications as needed.
• Maintains equipment and ensures patient safety and comfort.

Assumes responsibility for tasks or procedures as assigned. Performs data entry operations using appropriate hospital software package. Staff member may be required to provide coverage at various locations in the network.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerforms ultrasound techniques and examination; including but not limited to abdominal, OB/GYN, and small parts, by selecting proper technical factors on individual patient basis and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient's safety and comfort. Transports patient to and from exam room/table, prepares and maintains room. Acquires digital images and evaluates for technical quality. Assists physician in diagnostic procedures and with administering medications.Assists in coordination of daily workflow for the department’s activities.Maintains equipment in efficient operating order. Performs and documents all required quality control testing. Contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed.Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictates.Participates in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff, as needed.Maintains an orderly, clean and safe environment of patients and staff in assigned area. Includes passing SPI exam (Sonography Principles and Instrumentation Exam) or ARRT Sonography certification. RequiredBasic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Current and valid Basic Life Support Certification at the time of hire RequiredARRT-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Certification If ARRT when hired, ARDMS SPI credentialed 180 Days RequiredDiagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - License or RVT credentialed. This includes passing one of the following exams: • Abdomen • Breast • Obstetrics and Gynecology • Pediatric Sonography • Vascular Technology 1 Year or 18 months if hired with ARRT RequiredTwo (2) or more ARDMS specialty credentials.
