Job summary

HonorHealth is seeking a Night Shift Ultrasound Technologist at Thompson Peak Medical Center in Scottsdale, AZ. You will perform ultrasound exams under the direction of a radiologist, ensuring accuracy, patient safety, and quality imaging throughout abdominal, OB/GYN and small parts studies.

The role requires ARDMS eligibility, BLS, and RDMS/RVT credentials with 10+ months of clinical ultrasound experience, and will rotate to cover multiple network locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree in diagnostic medical sonography preferred.
• ARDMS eligibility including SPI exam.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• RDMS or RVT credentialed status required; multiple ARDMS credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound techniques including abdominal, OB/GYN and small parts.
• Operates ultrasound equipment and ensures patient safety and comfort.
• Documents procedures and enters data in hospital software.
• Assists radiologist with diagnostic procedures and medication administration.
• Rotates across locations within the network as staffing dictates.

Assumes responsibility for tasks or procedures as assigned. Performs data entry operations using appropriate hospital software package. Staff member may be required to provide coverage at various locations in the network.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerforms ultrasound techniques and examination; including but not limited to abdominal, OB/GYN, and small parts, by selecting proper technical factors on individual patient basis and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient's safety and comfort. Transports patient to and from exam room/table, prepares and maintains room. Acquires digital images and evaluates for technical quality. Assists physician in diagnostic procedures and with administering medications.Assists in coordination of daily workflow for the department’s activities.Maintains equipment in efficient operating order. Performs and documents all required quality control testing. Contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed.Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictates.Participates in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff, as needed.Maintains an orderly, clean and safe environment of patients and staff in assigned area.
