Job summary

MercyOne in Waterloo, IA is actively seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team. You will perform ultrasound procedures across patient populations from infants to geriatrics and ensure high-quality images.

Responsibilities include patient education, adherence to safety protocols, and accurate documentation. Must be ARDMS registered or board-eligible within 1 year, with BLS required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be ARDMS registered or board-eligible within 1 year.
• Maintain active ARDMS registry status and CME requirements.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound procedures with proper positioning and technical factors.
• Conducts clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography; differentiates normal vs pathologic.
• Educates patients about exams and obtains consent when needed.
• Observes safety precautions and safe handling of equipment.
• Operates 2D, M-mode, and Doppler ultrasound units.
• Verifies patient identity using two identifiers before exams.
• Performs daily visual inspection and safety checks of equipment.
