Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Manage staff work schedules and timekeeping.
  • Provide counseling, discipline, and conflict resolution for staff.
  • Order equipment and supplies, maintain service contracts, and ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Stay current with advances in technology and clinical protocols; attend professional seminars and conferences.
  • Maintain all required professional licenses and certifications.
  • Interview, recommend, and schedule new employees and student trainees.
  • Perform annual performance appraisals and preside over department meetings.
  • Communicate changes or additions to policies, procedures, and protocols to staff.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable professional and regulatory practice acts and hospital policies.

Job Summary

Desert Regional Medical Center is a 385‑bed acute‑care hospital classified as a stroke receiving center and Level 2 trauma facility with an innovative, patient‑centered and evidence‑based Rehabilitation Services Department. Our compassionate team provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including acute care rehabilitation, joint replacement & spinal surgery, neurosurgery, ICU, telemetry, step‑down care, skilled nursing, as well as outpatient therapy, hand and lymphedema clinics.

General Duties

Under the direction of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager/Director, the Ultrasound Supervisor is accountable for direct supervision of all ultrasound technologists and support personnel. This position shall be responsible for supervision, professional development, day‑to‑day operations, scheduling, customer satisfaction, and equipment management to ensure the optimal utilization of all resources. The Ultrasound Lead Technologist also oversees all departmental activities associated with regulatory compliance, safety and accreditation.

Compensation

$42.93 – $66.52 per hour. Individual wages are determined based upon experience and qualifications.
