Presbyterian Healthcare Services seeks a skilled Sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in a fast-paced setting. The role emphasizes patient safety, accurate imaging, and collaboration with physicians to support diagnosis and care planning.

Responsibilities include preparing the room, reviewing history, acquiring and documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and facility standards.

Qualifikationen

• New Mexico Sonography License is required.
• Certification by ARDMS/ARRT and/or CCI is required.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Must have one of the following qualified modalities: Diagnostic Sonography, Vascular Sonography, or Cardiac Sonography.

Aufgaben

• Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations following infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols.
• Ensure patient safety during the examination and monitor for any adverse events.
• Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information before imaging.
• Verify that the exam order is complete and medically necessary.
• Assess contraindications and patient readiness; adapt technique as needed for comfort and safety.
• Communicate clearly with patients and position them properly for optimal imaging.
• Perform diagnostic sonography exams under supervising provider guidance and document findings.
• Apply professional judgment to determine appropriate imaging techniques and ensure accurate data capture.
• Refer complex questions to the supervising provider per policy.
• Acquire additional ultrasound views if needed to support diagnosis.
• Identify limitations of the exam and document results for interpretation.
• Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance; follow facility policies.
• Contribute to daily facility operations and quality improvement measures.
