Job summary

UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital in Longmont, CO is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist for a full-time, onsite role. The position operates weekends with day shifts and a 72-hour pay period, conducting ultrasound exams and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

The candidate will review orders, educate patients, perform imaging, manage contrast administration when applicable, and maintain equipment quality control in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
• Registered as RDMS, RVT, or RDCS by ARDMS or certified in Sonography (S) by ARRT.
• BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross with card valid through 60 days after hire.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and orders; educates patient about procedures and exam. Prepares and administers contrast media when ordered.
• Monitors patient condition; prepares equipment and selects imaging exposure factors and parameters.
• Implements safety standards; performs quality control; troubleshoots equipment as needed; positions patient and conducts imaging procedures.
• Enters and reports scan results; may work with Radiology students; maintains ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and decisive judgment in a clinical setting.
