Job Summary

• The technologist performs Ultrasound procedures according to established protocol to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by a licensed physician or their designated healthcare provider.
• The Sonographer provides information to the patient about the purpose of the ultrasound procedure and responds to questions and concerns.
• The Sonographer recognizes the patient's individuality and provides quality care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner using professional and ethical judgment.
• The diagnostic medical sonographer maintains continued competence through lifelong learning, including continuing education, acquiring specialty-specific credentials, and recredentialing.
