Qualifications

• Advanced training beyond high school in Sonography.
• No experience required.
• Competency in general and vascular sonography.
• Ability to differentiate normal vs pathologic findings.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and work independently.
• Flexible schedule and adaptability to change.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular and/or cardiac studies with accuracy.
• Review patient records and orders to ensure exam accuracy.
• Position patient and select transducer and factors for quality imaging.
• Identify and label images with patient data and study location.
• Document procedures and billing codes in the radiology system.
• Communicate findings to the physician and collaborate on care.
• Maintain equipment and evaluate new products or devices for future use.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate care and safety for all patients.
